Bursztyn Unity: Szczecin christening on 11 November
23.10.2026
The Bursztyn Unity ferry will be christened at Wały Chrobrego in Szczecin on 11 November 2026. The city will once again host a maritime ceremony, this time on Poland’s Independence Day. Residents and visitors will have an opportunity to see the new vessel and join the celebrations beside the Oder River.
Bursztyn Unity is the sister ship of Jantar Unity, which was christened in Szczecin in January this year. The new ferry measures almost 196 metres in length and can accommodate around 400 passengers. Both vessels were built at Gdańska Stocznia Remontowa, the shiprepair yard in Gdańsk.
According to Visit Szczecin’s announcement, Bursztyn Unity is expected to remain moored below Wały Chrobrego for several days. For anyone planning a November city break in Szczecin, its stay offers a reason to head to the waterfront, take a closer look at the ferry from the quayside and combine the visit with a walk around the city.
Further details of the event will be announced soon. Before travelling, check Visit Szczecin’s upcoming updates for the programme and ceremony times. For now, mark the date in your calendar: 11 November — Bursztyn Unity’s christening in Szczecin.
