Discover Szczecin’s Highlights! Two guided city walks in August

If you are visiting Szczecin for the first time and want to discover the city’s most important sights, join one of our two guided city walks in August. “Szczecin in a nutshell!” is a great introduction to the city, combining its key landmarks with stories about Szczecin’s history, architecture and fascinating past.

The route has been designed especially for first-time visitors. It takes you to some of Szczecin’s most significant places and attractions while providing an accessible introduction to the history of the city and the region. Our guides will also point out details and places that are easy to miss when exploring Szczecin on your own.

On 22 August 2026 at 12:00, the city walk will be held in English. The tour, “Szczecin in a nutshell!”, will be led by Kinga Rabińska. Along the way, you will hear about the Pomeranian Dukes, discover why Szczecin was an important port and ducal residence for centuries, and see some of the city’s most impressive landmarks.

On 29 August 2026 at 11:00, the city walk will be held in German. Maciej Dobromilski will guide participants through “Stettiner Highlights entdecken!”, presenting the most important sights and stories of Szczecin along one carefully planned route.

Both guided walks start at the Tourist Information Centre (CIT Szczecin), pl. Żołnierza Polskiego 20. The price for each tour is PLN 40 per person.

Żagle 2026 begins in Szczecin: a weekend under sail

Szczecin is setting sail again. On Friday, August 14, Żagle 2026 – Żeglarski Szczecin Zaprasza, one of the city's major summer events, gets underway. Until Sunday, August 16, Szczecin's waterfront will be filled with sailing ships, crews and visitors looking to experience the city's maritime atmosphere. Vessels moored on both sides of the Oder will open their decks to residents and tourists.

Szczecin Welcomes the Tall Ships – Żagle 2026 Starts on 14 August

Szczecin’s waterfront is filling with masts, and the atmosphere of a major sailing festival can already be felt along the Oder River. More vessels are arriving in the city to take part in Żagle 2026, which begins on Friday, 14 August, and continues until Sunday, 16 August. Organisers are expecting dozens of vessels from around the world, while admission to the main attractions is free.
