On 26 August 2026, Szczecin will once again become an important destination for athletics fans. The 9th International Wiesław Maniak Memorial will take place at the Miejski Stadion Lekkoatletyczny im. Wiesława Maniaka at 20 Litewska Street. The event is a great opportunity to combine top-level sport with a day trip or weekend break in Szczecin.

One of the biggest names on the start list is Ewa Swoboda, one of Europe’s leading sprinters and the current Polish champion. She will compete in the women’s 100 metres. The meeting once again forms part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze, promising an international field and plenty of high-level competition on the track.

A trip to the memorial can easily become a full day of exploring Szczecin. Before heading to the stadium, visitors can walk along the Oder River, see the impressive Wały Chrobrego terraces or spend some time around Łasztownia. It is an easy way to combine sightseeing and the waterfront atmosphere of Szczecin with an afternoon and evening of live athletics.
