Żagle 2026 in Szczecin – Three Days of Tall Ships, Concerts and Waterfront Attractions

Szczecin is once again set to become Poland's sailing capital. From 14 to 16 August 2026, the city will host Żagle 2026, one of the country's largest outdoor festivals, combining maritime traditions with live music, sporting events and family-friendly entertainment. For three days, both banks of the Oder River will come alive with activities for visitors of all ages.

Concerts featuring top Polish artists

Although the first tall ships will arrive on 13 August, the official programme begins on Friday. The main stage, as part of the Eska Music Tour, will feature performances by the Choir of the Szczecin University of Technology, Voo Voo, Oskar Cyms, IRA and Dawid Kwiatkowski. Local bands will also perform throughout the weekend on the Łasztownia stage.

Saturday evening will focus on Poland's younger music scene, with performances by Young Leosia, Kinny Zimmer, Blacha 2115 and Janusz Walczuk. Fans of traditional sea music can head to the shanty stage in Food Port, where EKT Gdynia, North Wind, IGA'cki Band and the Zawisza Czarny Men's Sea Shanty Choir will perform. Irish dance workshops and demonstrations by the Sedina group will also be part of the programme.

More than 30 tall ships and cruises on the Oder River

The festival's biggest stars will, of course, be the ships themselves. More than 30 vessels from Poland, Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavian countries will moor in Szczecin. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour selected ships and enjoy sightseeing cruises along the Oder River.

A special guest this year will be the Baltic Beauty, celebrating its 100th anniversary. During the festival, visitors will be able to watch the creation of a brand-new hand-carved figurehead for the vessel. The Dutch tall ship Minerva will visit Szczecin for the first time, while the renovated Polish Navy training ship ORP Iskra will return. Maritime history enthusiasts will also be able to admire the legendary icebreaker Stettin, built in Szczecin in 1933.

Sports and family attractions

The programme also includes plenty of sporting activities. On Saturday morning, runners will take part in the Run Under Sail, while Lake Dąbie will host the Mayor of Szczecin Sailing Regatta. On Grodzka Island, visitors can meet players from Chemik Police volleyball club and join various sports activities.

Throughout the weekend, families can enjoy circus workshops, theatre performances, children's concerts, ecological activities, sports zones, arts and crafts workshops, relaxation areas and many interactive attractions. The popular Wheel of Szczecin, amusement park and a wide selection of food vendors will also be available.

Brass bands and a spectacular drone show

One of the festival's highlights will be the 9th Brass Band Festival for the Mayor of Szczecin Cup, featuring colourful parades of marching bands and majorettes through the city streets.

On Friday evening, the skies above Grodzka Island will light up during a spectacular drone show inspired by Szczecin, water and the city's maritime heritage. The aerial animations are based on designs created by pupils from local primary schools.

Maritime market and regional flavours

Żagle 2026 is much more than ships and concerts. Visitors will also find the Sailing Market, the Artists' Avenue, the West Pomeranian Flavours Avenue and the popular Food Port, alongside educational, health and safety zones prepared together with festival partners.
