Szczecin will celebrate the 81st anniversary of its administration being taken over by the Polish authorities with a packed programme of events from 3–5 July 2026. Under the slogan "Szczecin: At Your Own Pace," residents and visitors can enjoy historical reenactments, concerts, multimedia shows, family activities and cultural events across the city.

The celebrations begin on Friday, July 3, with the ceremonial City Council session, during which new Honorary Ambassadors of Szczecin will be announced. Cinema lovers can also attend the two-day GRYF FILM – Szczecin on Screen festival at the historic Pionier 1907 Cinema.

On Saturday, City Hall Square becomes the heart of the celebrations. Visitors can watch a historical reenactment, explore a historical diorama, enjoy food trucks and live DJ music, and end the evening with two spectacular video mapping shows projected onto the façade of Szczecin City Hall.

On Sunday, official ceremonies marking the anniversary and Pioneers' Day will take place at the Monument to the Polish Endeavour. Afterwards, celebrations move to the Rose Garden (Różanka), featuring concerts, children's entertainment and the city's famous 81-kilogram birthday cake.

The COME WITH US FESTIVAL at the Summer Theatre will offer workshops, a colourful parade, fashion shows, art exhibitions, family activities and live music. The weekend concludes with the Masternak & Deryło concert at Villa Lentza.

Whether you enjoy history, culture, music or family events, Szczecin's birthday weekend offers something for everyone—at your own pace.
