From July 4, you’ll be able to travel by water tram from Szczecin to the border towns of Mescherin and Gartz. It’s a fantastic way to discover the beauty of the Lower Oder Valley, explore charming towns on both sides of the Polish-German border and enjoy a relaxing day out on the water.

The new Szczecin–Mescherin–Gartz route is the first water tram connection between Szczecin and Gartz. Along the way, you’ll cruise through the stunning landscapes of the Lower Oder Valley, passing old river channels, wetlands, floodplains and some of the region’s most valuable natural areas. With its rich wildlife and peaceful scenery, it’s the perfect destination for nature lovers, birdwatchers and anyone looking to escape the city for a few hours.
The service will run every Saturday and Sunday from July 4th until September 5th, giving both locals and visitors plenty of opportunities to experience this unique part of the region.

During the three-hour cruise, keep an eye out for cranes, white-tailed eagles, herons, terns and cormorants. You’ll also be able to admire the vast reed beds, waterways and lush vegetation that make the Lower Oder Valley so special.
There’s plenty to discover beyond the scenery, too. Along the route, you can learn about the history of shipping on the Oder River, the creation of the Międzyodrze wetlands, the region’s unique network of canals and polders, and the events that shaped this area during the Second World War.
To make the journey even more engaging, the Explore Oder app offers an audio guide in Polish, German and English. As you pass key locations, the app will tell you more about the sights and stories connected with them. Disposable headphones for mobile devices will be available on board.

The journey from Szczecin to Mescherin and Gartz takes around three hours. Once in Gartz, passengers will have about 2.5 hours to explore the town before the return cruise to Szczecin.
You can choose between a one-way or return ticket, with prices for adults and children starting from PLN 30.

And if you enjoy exploring on two wheels, feel free to bring your bike along. The region is crossed by the popular Blue Velo cycling route, making it easy to combine a scenic cruise with a bike ride through forests, riverside landscapes and picturesque villages along the Polish-German border.

Ticket sales will start on June 20.
