Szczecin tastes local

Paprykarz szczeciński may be the city’s most famous food symbol, but Szczecin has many more flavours waiting to be discovered. A visit here can easily turn into a small culinary trip through local traditions and modern city tastes.

One of the must-try classics is pasztecik szczeciński, best served with hot red borscht. This local fast food has been part of the city’s identity for decades and remains one of Szczecin’s most distinctive snacks.

The city also serves herring in a bun, frytburgers, great ice cream, pizza, Thai food and bao buns. Jagiellońska Street is especially worth visiting after a walk through the city centre, with plenty of places to stop for lunch, dinner or dessert.
