Pasztecik Szczeciński

Today we celebrate the birthday of Pasztecik Szczeciński – a beloved snack from the city of Szczecin and the West Pomerania region. It all started in 1969, when production began using a special machine brought from the Soviet Union, originally designed for military use.

The pastry is crispy outside, soft inside, and filled with options like meat, cabbage with mushrooms, cheese with mushrooms, or egg with chives.

Traditionally served with hot red borscht, it’s a quick and hearty local snack enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.

Why should you try it?
– It’s a culinary icon of Szczecin.
– Still made today with the original machine at the bar on Wojska Polskiego Avenue.
– Perfect for a quick stop while exploring the city – fast, local, and full of flavor.

Planning to try one today? Expect a line – but it’s well worth the wait!
