Lentz Villa – the Jewel of Szczecin’s Westend with a Living History
28.08.2025
Lentz Villa is one of the most impressive and intriguing residences in Szczecin. Built between 1888 and 1889 for industrialist August Lentz, it dazzles with elegance and architectural flair, blending elements of Renaissance, Mannerism, and Baroque – a style known as the French costume. Located in the prestigious Westend district (now Łękno), it was a symbol of prestige and wealth from the start. Unfortunately, the founder did not enjoy it for long – he passed away five years after construction was completed.
Over the decades, the residence changed owners and purposes. During the interwar period, it housed the NSDAP headquarters, and during World War II it was occupied by the 3rd German Air Reconnaissance Regiment. After the war, the villa was taken over by Soviet troops and later served as the Youth Palace for nearly 60 years.
In 2019, a major restoration project brought the villa back to its former glory. Today, it operates as a cultural institution – hosting exhibitions, concerts, and meetings with artists. On selected days, visitors can explore the interior on their own or with a guided tour. It’s a must-see stop for anyone visiting Szczecin.
