Art Nouveau Tenement at 1 Świętego Wojciecha Street in Szczecin

Secesyjna kamienica Szczecin
Kamienica Wojciecha 1

The tenement at 1 Świętego Wojciecha Street is a historic residential and commercial building located in the center of Szczecin. Listed in the Provincial Register of Monuments, it is one of the few examples of Art Nouveau architecture in the city.

The building was designed by Friedrich Liebergesell at the request of Berlin-based entrepreneur Albert Netz. It consists of a four-story front tenement with an attic, along with a three-wing annex forming a U-shaped courtyard. The façade features rich ornamentation, including rusticated stonework, decorative balconies, and bay windows topped with semi-domes. A distinctive feature of the structure is its tiled roof, highlighted by a central spire.

The courtyard serves as a cultural venue, hosting concerts, artistic performances, film screenings, and exhibitions. The building's interiors have preserved some original elements, such as wooden doors, ceramic tiles in kitchens and bathrooms, and decorative features in the entrance passage.

The tenement at 1 Świętego Wojciecha Street is an important example of Szczecin's Art Nouveau heritage.
