Discover Szczecin’s Highlights! Two guided city walks in August
On 26 August 2026, Szczecin will once again become an important destination for athletics fans. The 9th International Wiesław Maniak Memorial will take place at the Miejski Stadion Lekkoatletyczny im. Wiesława Maniaka at 20 Litewska Street. The event is a great opportunity to combine top-level sport with a day trip or weekend break in Szczecin.
Szczecin is setting sail again. On Friday, August 14, Żagle 2026 – Żeglarski Szczecin Zaprasza, one of the city's major summer events, gets underway. Until Sunday, August 16, Szczecin's waterfront will be filled with sailing ships, crews and visitors looking to experience the city's maritime atmosphere. Vessels moored on both sides of the Oder will open their decks to residents and tourists.
Szczecin’s waterfront is filling with masts, and the atmosphere of a major sailing festival can already be felt along the Oder River. More vessels are arriving in the city to take part in Żagle 2026, which begins on Friday, 14 August, and continues until Sunday, 16 August. Organisers are expecting dozens of vessels from around the world, while admission to the main attractions is free.
Żagle is getting closer! Freedom is already moored at Nabrzeże Starówka, with more vessels set to arrive in Szczecin over the coming days. Welcoming the sailing ships is one of the most eagerly awaited moments of the event – with each new arrival, Szczecin’s waterfront will take on an increasingly unique maritime atmosphere.
The temporary arrivals hall at Szczecin-Goleniów Airport is now in operation.
From 14–16 August, Szczecin will once again become Poland's sailing capital. Tall ships from across Europe will moor at the foot of the Wały Chrobrego waterfront, creating one of the most spectacular summer events in the country.
A unique place dedicated to craftsmanship and local heritage has opened in Szczecin. Studio Rzeczy Pięknych "Zduńskie Opowieści", located at Dworcowa Street, combines a passion for traditional tiled stoves with the revival of the historic ceramic brand Stettiner Waren.
After more than two decades, Szczecin will once again host one of Europe's most prestigious cycling races. On 4 August, the city will welcome the finish of Stage 2 of the 83rd Tour de Pologne, featuring the world's top professional teams and elite riders.
