Głębokie Forest Park
Part of the Wkrzańska Forest, it is the second largest Forest Park in and around Szczecin.
Located in the north-western part of Szczecin, the park has an area of ca. 350 ha, and Szczecin’s favourite bathing beach - Lake Głębokie - is located in it. The undoubted advantage of Głębokie is its short distance from the city. Once you get on the tram No. 1 or 9, then after a several minutes’ ride from the city centre you are there.
There is a picturesque walking and cycling route around the lake. At the Spacerowa Avenue, running along the northern shore of the lake, there are monumental oaks named “the British” (5 oaks with a circumference of 300-430 cm), whose name commemorates the British Repatriation Mission for Germany. To the west of them there is a beech called Phantom (circumference 400 cm). Its name is associated with the "ghostly" shape of several branches of the tree crown. At the north-western edge of the lake there is the "Wołczkowo" military shooting range.
The park is also an ideal starting point for hiking and cycling trips, e.g. along the S. Kaczmarek Wkrzańska Forest route or through the Seven Mills Valley to Szczecin Gubałówka.
