Wkrzańska Forest
Wkrzańska Forest (German: Ueckermünder Heide) is over 1550 km2 of picturesque area, 22% of which is on the Polish side of the border.
From the south, the Forest borders with Szczecin, from the east and north with the waters of the Oder and the Szczecin Lagoon, and in the west the forests reach the Pasewalk-Ueckermünde line. The forest owes its name to the Wkra River (German: Uecker) flowing into the Szczecin Lagoon on the German side.
Thanks to its short distance from the city, beautiful landscapes and the vicinity of the Szczecin Lagoon, it is a favourite place for weekend recreation for the residents of the region. Numerous tourist routes (both on the Polish and German side) as well as horse and bike paths, offer you a chance to actively relax in close contact with nature. Even a short walk in the Wkrzańska Forest is a great opportunity to unwind and regenerate your strength for further work and study.
