Rector’s Office of the Pomeranian Medical University

Pomorski Uniwersytet Medyczny
Pomorski Uniwersytet Medyczny

This Neo-Renaissance building and its 68-metre tower were erected between 1900 and 1902, based on a design by the city’s architecture counsellor, Wilhelm Meyer, on the location of an old house that had belonged to a Cistercian abbot from Kołbacz. Originally serving as the seat of power for the city’s authorities, it was repurposed to house a medical university in 1948. Some interesting red sandstone detailing and an official room of the City Savings Bank survive.
