Railway bascule bridge over Regalica

Most kolejowy
Most zwodzony nad Regalicą

A railway bascule bridge over the Regalica (Eastern Oder) was built in 1877, blown up by the Germans in 1945 and reconstructed by Poles in 1949.

It is the only currently active bridge of this type in Poland and the only one with a mechanical drive in Europe.

The bridge does not have its own name. Sometimes it is commonly called the Wrocław Bridge (from the name of the railway line along which it was erected).

It is located on the route from the Szczecin Port Centralny station before entering Szczecin Podjuchy.

The bridge was the main subject of the short film "Most" (“Bridge”) nominated for an Oscar in 2004 in the category of Best Live Action Short Film 2003.
