St. Adalbert's Garrison Church
This church, designed by Jürgen Kröger, was constructed in 1906-1909.
It is built of brick, and has a massive, asymmetrical 65.5-metre tower. The style of the building is eclectic: most parts are neo-Gothic, but there are also neo-Roman motifs in the decorations.
The church originally belonged to the evangelical parish, its patron was Johannes Bugenhagen, the father of the Reformation in Pomerania. It is currently a Roman Catholic garrison church.
The church hall is 35 m long, 23 m wide and 17 m high, and the spire is 65.5 m high.
During World War II the church was partly destroyed. Its reconstruction started right after the War and in 1948 it was consecrated and donated to the Roman Catholic garrison parish.
In 2012, a fountain was built in front of the church. Its shape is modelled on a fragment of the neo-Gothic facade. The gushing, colourfully lit water has the shape of arches and forms a water gate
