Composition in metal

Project and execution – Mieczysław Welter
It was made in 1974 at the request of the city authorities and is one of several sculptural elements located on the premises of the Summer Theatre.
A sculpture is an abstract composition, shaped vertically. Slightly narrowed halfway up, it has two oval openworks placed in a vertical line. Originally, granite stones were embedded in both holes. Only one has survived to this day - visible in the upper openwork. On the surface of the walls (front and back) there are numerous, different-sized, circular recesses made by the artist.
Together with other works by Anna Paszkiewicz, Leonia Chmielnik and Stanisław Biżek, it emphasized the closure of the amphitheater arch, until the reconstruction of the amphitheater in 2022 and the transfer of the sculpture near the exit gate.
Until the reconstruction of the amphitheater in 2022, the sculpture was placed on a rectangular plinth covered with granite slabs - archive photo. Currently, the sculpture stands directly on the ground. It has also been rotated 180 degrees in relation to the original foundation, and its location has also been changed.
