Szczecin is more and more often chosen as a tourist destination. The rich cultural offer and diverse events attract tourists not only from Poland, but also from abroad to the capital of West Pomerania.

Who visits Szczecin?

From January to mid-October, the Oder metropolis was visited by many Germans, who accounted for 11% of the total number of visitors to the Szczecin Tourist Information Office. However, most of the visitors were Poles, 82%.

Attractions that attract tourists

The biggest event attracting tourists is undoubtedly the Sail Szczecin sailing days. The August weekend recorded almost 390,000 visitors.

Must-have for tourists

For several years we have observed that among the most visited places for travelers are: Hook Terrace, St. Jacob's Church, Jasne Błonia Park, Philharmonic Hall, Museum of Technology and Transport, as well as Lastadie Island and the Maritime Science Center located there. The port area in particular was visited by over 738,000 people in just one season. The most numerous group from abroad who came there this summer were from Germany, followed by Ukraine, Great Britain, USA, Czechs and Slovakia.

The city tours are very popular with both residents and visitors. This year we were able to offer them in four languages - Polish, German, English and Ukrainian. A total of 1088 people listened to the interesting facts and stories about Szczecin.

Our observations show that tourists come to Szczecin at any time of the year. Soon the Christmas market will take place in the city center, an excellent opportunity to come to Szczecin and stay longer.
